We are ready to get Hero Camp rolling for 2019!! -- “Mission: POSSIBLE”
Hero camp is a summer camp for
children ages 4-11. Each day the kids
are visited by a scripture hero, dressed in costume, who tells and acts out his/her
story. Throughout the day they rotate through stations with a group of kids
their same age such as crafts, outdoor activities, music and lessons. Each child will come home with a personalized
memory book with pictures from camp week.
Here is what’s expected. Every
child who wants to participate needs to have a parent or guardian willing to
commit to one full day of participation during the week of camp. Parents
with more than one child will be asked to volunteer additional days depending
on the number of children attending. We will assign each parent volunteer
to a specific day. As a volunteer you will work with all the other volunteers
assigned to your day, under the direction of two ”Day Moms”. Together you will
plan and carry out all the fun on your day focused around a scripture
hero. Camp is run fully by your
willingness to volunteer. DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO WORK
YOUR DAY. Please do your part.
Any additional days you are volunteering you will be assigned a group to
rotate through activities and help where needed.
The cost of the t-shirt, crafts, activities and memory
book for the week comes to $50.00 per child.
If your child is 6 months to four years old, they are
not allowed to attend with you as you volunteer. Please
make a trade with another parent or look for a sitter for that time. We appreciate this as it will help with the
safety of the kids attending camp.
This year we will meeting together as a large group twice. Our first mandatory meeting will be Sunday, March 24th at 7pm at the Ohio Building (5550 Ohio St. Yorba Linda) to meet your group and discuss your day. Assignments will be given out and planning for your day will begin. We will first meet as a large group and then break into day groups. Christy and Alyssa will both be there to answer questions. A lot of information and planning will take place that night.
The registration fee will not be refunded after May 15, 2019.

There will also be a mandatory set-up open house on Sunday, June 16th at 8:00 - 9:30 pm at the LDS Ohio Building (5550 Ohio St. Yorba
Linda). On this night you will pick-up camp shirts, lanyards
and help decorate the cultural hall with your group. Please plan on attending as we
will need all helpers to get ready for camp to start the next morning. We recognize this is Father's Day. Things will be streamlined and brief. Please plan accordingly for your decorations.
Registration
will close when we reach 110 children. Forward this on
to any family or friends who would want to be a part of this scripture hero
camp.
